| As announced by Drägerwerk AG, Lübeck, the Executive Board and Supervisory Board will propose to the annual stockholders' meeting on 23 June to pay from Drägerwerk AG's net income of DM 14.6 million (previous year: DM 18.8 million) a cash dividend of Euro 0.42 for preferred stock and Euro 0.36 for common stock with respect to fiscal 1999. As the capital available to pay these dividends stems from foreign income, German resident stockholders will not receive a corporation income tax credit. The distribution for participation certificates remains unchanged, which at Euro 4.20 is equal to ten times the preferred stock dividend and is around ten times the calculated nominal value of the no-par-value shares.

| Drägerwerk AG also announces that its Safety Technology division will be consistently expanding its range of products and services to include new technologies and services. The first stage of this expansion involved the takeover of the company PLMS Ltd., Plymouth, England, market leader in the area of so-called open path technology. This special form of stationary infrared gas detection technology enables the measurement and identification of combustible gases at distances of up to 100 metres, thus majorly contributing to the safety of installations at for example large offshore platforms, refineries and in the petrochemicals industry. Especially under extreme conditions, this modern technology allows reliable monitoring of hazardous gas development and maximizes the probability of leak detection. Dräger Sicherheitstechnik, technology leader in the field of industrial gas detection technology, will benefit from new market opportunities with the new Draeger PLMS Ltd.

| In addition, Dräger Safety Technology has also taken over Antwerp-based ABC Opleidingen B.V.B.A., a Belgian company specialized in total care management concepts in the area of safety technology and which provides total product and service concepts at Antwerp Port for shipping and port operations, e.g. for so-called shut-down projects, general overhaul and maintenance solutions. The Dräger Safety Service Center SSC has been operating in the Port of Rotterdam for several years now, and its total solution concept which has proved so successful there is to be made available at other European locations and in other projects, representing a further growth market for Dräger.

|
| In 1999, Dräger Safety Technology achieved sales of DM 648 million (as compared to DM 613 million in the previous year) with its 2832 employees and was awarded the 1999 German Logistics Prize for exemplary logistical process optimization. |
