| The Pfullingen-based Prettl Group is to take over part of Dräger Electronics GmbH, thereby expanding its High-Tech division. With approx. 40 Dräger Electronics employees, it will be setting up a new plant close to Lübeck: Prettl Electronics, North. The new facility will continue to support existing customers of Dräger Electronics, as well as new customers in North Germany. The company will start business on 1 August 2003.

| The electronics division of the Prettl Group is a service provider which supplies electronic assemblies, devices and systems, and has many years of experience in areas such as telecommunications and industrial electronics in high tech applications. The main focus of the new plant will be the development and production of small to medium volumes of electronic assemblies and complete systems for highly specialized market segments. Alongside complex industrial equipment, in particular electronic assemblies for applications in medical technology and for sensors in gas detection technology will be produced. Specializing in all stages of development and production, Prettl Electronics, North, will be in a position to supply customers with specially tailored service packages - with the option of producing larger volumes in attractive economic conditions at Prettl Elektronik Radeberg near Dresden.

| In September 2002, Drägerwerk AG announced its intention to sell Dräger Electronics GmbH and sharpen its focus on its core business. According to latest figures, the 120 employees of Dräger Electronics achieved annual sales of around EUR 20 million. A reconciliation of interests and a social compensation plan were agreed for staff who will not be moving to the new facility and whose jobs will be lost. A transfer company will provide training and further education to qualify staff for activities outside the Dräger Group.
