| Lübeck, 11 June 2004 – Today, the Annual Shareholders' Meeting of Drägerwerk AG decided to follow the proposal of the Executive and Supervisory Boards and pay shareholders a dividend of €0.40 per preferred share and €0.34 per common share. |

| The shareholders, of whom over 1500 attended the meeting, were clearly more than pleased with the extremely positive development of Drägerwerk AG. The company brought fiscal 2003 to a successful conclusion with sales having grown 6 percent to over €1.4 billion and EBIT, before one-time expenses for the joint venture with Siemens, having jumped by 34 percent to €96.4 million. The Group's net profit soared 91 percent to reach €37.8 million (up from €19.8 million). |

| Dräger continued this positive trend in Q1/2004, increasing sales (up 11.7 percent) and profits (EBIT +18.4 %; net profit €13.4 million). The Executive Board reaffirmed its forecast for 2004 and expects growth of over 10 percent in sales and proportionally higher growth rates in EBIT and net profit. |

| In looking ahead to the future, Theo Dräger highlighted the fact that the Dräger Group intends to continue to focus its development activities on three key success factors – innovations, international marketing and improvement of the costs structure by optimizing globally oriented business processes. The company, he went on to say, is well poised with its products and services for success on the world's markets. |
