| Lübeck, 23 February 2005 – Following a decision taken at today's meeting of the Supervisory Board of Drägerwerk AG, Lübeck, Stefan Dräger, 42, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Executive Board with effect from 1 March, and Chairman of the Executive Board with effect from 1 July 2005. |

| Following his Abitur [high school diploma], military service and a BA degree in electrical engineering and telecommunications which he completed while working for Hewlett Packard in Stuttgart, and a job as process automation engineer in a South-German management consultancy firm, he has held senior positions at Dräger since 1992, both in Germany and abroad. In 2003 he was appointed to the Drägerwerk AG Executive Board and assigned responsibility for Corporate Affairs. |

| Succeeding Theo Dräger, 67, who has served the company since 1967 and held the position since 1997, Stefan Dräger will be the fifth generation of his family to take up the position of Chairman of the Executive Board. |
